Best Library and Information Studies Rankings
On March 11, 2013, U.S. News and World Report published its 2013 ranking of 51 ALA-accredited master’s degree programs in library and information science. The rankings are based “solely on the results of a Fall 2012 survey sent to the dean of each program, the program director, and a senior faculty member in each program.” In addition, “peer assessment questionnaires asked individuals to rate the academic quality of programs at each institution on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding).”
The ranking results for the Midwest’s graduate LIS programs are:
#1 University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (4.6)
